Before using the climbing trails, please read the following instructions:

The purchase of a ticket or season pass is mandatory to access the trails.
The season pass is valid at the following two resorts: Sommet Olympia and Sommet Morin Heights.
Access to trails during mountain opening hours. It is forbidden to use the climbing trails outside ski area opening hours. No patrollers on duty to assist in case of injury or accident. Trails are groomed once the resort is closed.
Use the designated trails to climb and ski back down the slopes.
Follow the rules and regulations on site.

Les Sommets regular season pass holders have free access to the trails. Members must go to Sommet Morin Heights or Sommet Olympia Customer Service to sign the clearance form and receive the trail pass.

Ascent permitted: only on the ascent trails indicated on the map. It is strictly forbidden to climb or circulate outside these zones or to hike up a ski slope or along the edge of a slope (unless indicated).
For the descent: only go down on marked and opened ski runs of the ski area. It is strictly forbidden to descend on the ascent trails.

PLEASE NOTE / YOU MUST HAVE LEFT BY 4 PM OR ONE HOUR BEFORE THE LIFTS CLOSE (ACCORDING TO THE SCHEDULE ON THE RESORT’S WEBSITE AT SOMMETS.COM)

Grooming operations require the use of a winch, which poses a real danger to skiers who could come into contact with the steel cable. Note that the cables can be very long and that they are used in several locations on the mountain. The cable can be difficult to spot. For everyone's safety, please comply with these rules.

Access, ascent or descents are strictly prohibited when the ski area is not in operation.

It is forbidden to use the ascent trails and ski runs in pre/post season and/or outside the resort's operating hours.

When the resort is closed, the trails or ski runs are unpatrolled, unsecured and unmarked. Surfaces are not maintained and may contain obstacles.

You may encounter snowmobiles, grooming machines, snowmaking equipment or obstacles. Stay alert! If you come across a vehicle, pull over to the side of the run.

Important

At all times, descents and ascents are not permitted on closed trails, off-piste or backcountry areas.

Rules

and policies

Use of the slopes and trails (alpine touring, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing) and access to the resort are permitted subject to acceptance of the Rules of Conduct and Safety for Trails and Alpine Touring, the Mountain Code of Conduct and the risks inherent in the practice of winter sports (ski touring, alpine skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or any other sliding sport in the resort) and other instructions and measures in force at the resort.

The right of access is granted in consideration of your commitment to respect the rules of conduct and safety in force at the resort. If you fail to do so, access may be revoked and your ticket confiscated without notice or refund.

You assume full responsibility for any damage to property or personal injury resulting from the said inherent risks and dangers.

Be vigilant. It's your responsibility!

You must have purchased a right of access to access the trails and climb the alpine touring trails. The daily ski ticket or season ski pass does not confer the right to access the climbing trails.
Check and respect the opening and closing hours of the trails and ski runs. Check the conditions of the ski runs and alpine touring trails before leaving.
Users agree to follow the Mountain Code of Conduct at all times.
Climb only on designated and marked trails and only during the ski area's operating hours; stay visible and ride in single file.
Climbing on ski runs is strictly forbidden except on designated and open trails (Olympia: Piedmont trail / Morin Heights: Hurtubise trail).
It is forbidden to descend on ascent trails at any time; GO DOWN ON ONE OF THE RESORT’S MARKED AND OPEN SKI RUNS.
Backcountry hiking or skiing is prohibited. Stay on the marked and open trails.
When it gets dark, signal your presence with a white front light.
It is forbidden to access trails or slopes that are closed and/or undergoing snowmaking and/or grooming. If you come across a motorized vehicle (ATV, snow groomer), stop on the edge of the run. Grooming operations require the use of a winch, which represents a real danger for skiers. Please note that cables can be very long and are used in many locations on the mountain. Steel cables are difficult to spot. Winches are identified by a blue flashing light, and can be used anywhere on the mountain.
The ascent trails ARE NOT PATROLLED, even during operating hours.
Fat biking is forbidden in the trails.
Pets are not allowed on alpine touring trails and ski runs.
Report any situation requiring intervention to the ski area's Customer Services.
Les Sommets reserves the right to charge a $500 fee or more for any request for assistance outside its operating hours and/or off marked and opened trails.

In case of emergency, call 911 and allow for delays. You are responsible for your own safety, reporting any emergencies and possible evacuation. Knowledge of first aid is strongly recommended.

As a condition of my use of the premises and facilities and my participation in snow sports (skiing, snowboarding, alpine touring or any other activity) on the premises, I declare the following:

PHYSICAL CAPACITY:

I hereby acknowledge and declare that I have the required physical ability to participate in snow sports and in alpine touring activities or snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.

MOUNTAIN CODE OF CONDUCT(« Code »):

I hereby agree to respect at all times the Mountain Code of Conduct (« Code ») and to show courtesy towards others. The Code is adopted under the Act Respecting Safety in Sports. Said Code applies to anyone who practices a snow sport and is legally binding.

Remain in control of your speed and direction. Make sure you can stop and avoid any person or obstacle.
Yield the right of way to persons downhill and choose a course that ensures their safety.
Stop on a trail only if you are visible from above and if you are not obstructing the trail.
Yield the right of way to persons uphill when entering a trail and at intersections.
If you are involved in or witness an accident, remain at the scene and identify yourself to a first-aider.
Use and wear at all times a proper device to prevent runaway equipment.
Keep out of the lifts and trails if your ability is impaired through use of alcohol or drugs.
Obey all signs and warnings and never venture off the trails or onto a closed trail.

I hereby agree to obey all other rules and signs pertaining to any particular activity as marked out by the resort.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISKS:

I hereby acknowledge and understand that skiing, snowboarding and any other snow sport offered on the premises involves inherent risks, including, but not limited to the following:

Changing weather conditions;
Variations in the terrain and the degree of inclination of the slope;
The presence of natural obstacles and/or man-made obstacles, either made by the resort or other participants in the activity and the condition of the mountain. Any obstacle or natural condition of the mountain or made by the resort or other participants, such as the presence of streams, creeks or holes, the presence of rocks, dirt, patches not covered with snow, the presence of trees, regrowth of trees, natural shrubs and stumps, as well as any other natural or man-made obstacle not listed above, but which may be found in a ski resort;
The presence of ice or patches of ice;
Any change to the skiable surface conditions;
Any collision with another skier or any other person;
The presence of pylons, lift towers, fences, snow making equipment, snow grooming equipment and other structures, whether used or not in the operation of the resort, but which may be found in the resort, as well as the collision with these elements;
The use of ski lifts of any type, whether for risks related to boarding, riding or disembarking ski lifts or any other risk related to ski lifts;
The presence on the trails of mobile maintenance equipment, snowmobiles, emergency vehicles, as well as snowmaking equipment or any other vehicles, equipment or structures used for the operation of a ski resort;
The use of snow parks and/or modules of any kind that may be found there;
Avalanches, landslides or mass movement of snow.

I am aware of the risks associated with snow sports and the potential for bodily injury, death, property damage or loss resulting therefrom, and I accept and assume full responsibility for any damage resulting from the aforementioned risks as well as any other inherent risks not specifically mentioned in this form.

DISPUTE:

I hereby acknowledge that any lawsuit or dispute relating to this agreement would be submitted only to the courts of the Province of Quebec, which will have exclusive jurisdiction over any claims.

Ascent trails and snowshoeing and cross-country skiing areas are not patrolled.

REPORT ANY SITUATION REQUIRING INTERVENTION

During ski area's operating hours for assistance, refer to a ski patroller or lift operator. It is possible to reach the patrol at 450-227-4671 or at the patrol clinic at the base of the ski area.
Outside of ski area's operating hours, you must call 911 and allow time to receive help from first responders. In the event of an accident, you may be required to provide first aid and evacuation.
