The Intro-Plus Zone: the new approach to learning to ski and snowboard. Thanks to our Terrain-based learning zones, all new skiers and snowboarders can learn at their own pace, in complete safety. This tried and tested method is available at all six of our Sommets.

Simplifying the introduction
to gliding

 

From booking to first descents, we're with you every step of the way. The Intro-Plus Experience, available at all our Sommets, is:

  • A self-learning course to develop skills and independence
  • A range of specialized packages
  • Groomed trails
  • State-of-the-art facilities

 

The Intro-Plus Zone offers skiers and snowboarders a safe, delimited environment where speed and turns are naturally controlled by the terrain. This innovative profiling eliminates the apprehension of going downhill, while enhancing the pleasure of riding.

Discover our Intro-Plus Zone: five steps to self-learning, a method unique in North America. Learn on your own!

 

The purchase of a ticket or package for the Intro-Plus Zone is required.

 

Before your visit, familiarize yourself with the steps by watching our video guide and consulting the document at home (see link below). Once you're on the mountain, you'll find it easier to follow the signs posted on the site.

 

1. The flats

 

Learn to move and get around with the equipment.

  1. Walk in a circle with your boots on.
  2. Make circles with your equipment.
  3. Hop up and down on the spot.

2. The mini pipe

 

Explore your mobility and experiment with your first gliding movements.

  1. Slide towards the middle and let yourself slide down.
  2. Return to the start, keeping your equipment.
  3. Slide diagonally to the right, turn. Repeat, heading left.
  4. Repeat the exercise.

3. The rollers

 

Experience the motion of gliding as you pick up a little speed.

  1. Climb sideways to the starting point, slide to the end in a straight line, return to the start.
  2. Slide down, trying to touch your knees at the top of each roller, then climb back up.
  3. Slide to the middle of the step and change direction.
  4. Repeat the exercise.

4. The banked turn

 

Make your first turns.

  1. Slide towards the top of the turn; link your turns one after another while controlling your speed.
  2. Slide towards the bottom of the turn; link your turns one after another.

5. The perfect slope

 

Control turns, control speed.

  1. Make a turn towards the right until you have completely stopped.
  2. Make a turn towards the left until you have completely stopped.
  3. Link your turns while controlling your speed.
