les Sommets announces major investments to improve facilities and services
Saint-Sauveur, Quebec, October 7, 2024 - les Sommets, the undisputed leader in the ski and outdoor activities industry, is pursuing its mission of excellence with a series of major investments designed to constantly improve its products and services. These initiatives, representing a total investment of over $10 million, illustrate the group's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
New lift at Sommet Morin Heights and Sommet Edelweiss
One of this year's major innovations is the introduction of the new Elevation lift at Sommet Morin Heights. This installation completes the complete renewal of the lift fleet that began in 2019, bringing the number of new lifts in the group to seven. These include the Sommet Express, the Laurentienne and the Apollo.
In addition, Sommet Edelweiss will benefit from a new covered magic carpet and a significant expansion of the learning facilities. These two projects represent an investment of over $6 million.
Ongoing snowmaking improvements
To improve the quality of our trails, we have completely renovated the snowmaking systems on the Red Bird Trail in 2019 and the Express Trail in 2022. This year, it's the turn of the prestigious piste 70 to benefit from a new automated system. This will enable us to offer an even larger skiable area from the start of the season. Our aim is to offer the longest ski season ever, and to surprise and satisfy our skiers from the very first snowflakes, as well as enhancing their experience all season long.
Additional investments
Finally, les Sommets is also investing in the infrastructure of its slopes and buildings at Sommet Morin Heights. A new section of snow line will be installed, as well as the addition of a three-phase power line on the Après Vous trail to enable the use of fan guns. In addition, $1,470,000 has been earmarked for renovations to the Main Pavilion, including a new roof, improvements to upstairs washrooms and the installation of a new septic system. At Sommet Olympia, a new power line will supply the buildings at the top of the mountain.
These major investments reflect les Sommets' desire to thank its loyal clientele and attract new outdoor enthusiasts. With these improvements, les Sommets continues to position itself as a must-see destination for ski and nature enthusiasts.
