This is an entry level position for candidates with no previous experience with les Sommets instructor team.
Responsabilities
- Teaches the basics of skiing including stance, balance, braking, turns and various downhill techniques. Adapts to the level of each student to provide personalized instruction
- Ensures equipment is properly adjusted and safety rules are followed at all times
- Assesses students' skill levels prior to lessons in order to create homogeneous groups and identify specific needs
- Plans lessons adapted to the skills and objectives of each group or student
- Encourages and motivates students throughout the lesson, helping them to overcome challenges and improve their skills
- Completes student progress reports (groups only)
- Attends weekly information meetings
Due to the current labor shortage, employees may be asked to take on other responsibilities not directly related to their current position. Versatility to meet new challenges is essential to the smooth running of the organization.
Qualifications
Ski: Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance (CSIA) or PESA Level 1 valid certification (or in the process of obtaining it)
Snowboard: Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) or PEPN Level 1 valid certification (or in the process of obtaining it)
Required skills
Must be fluent in all aspects of the English and French language (spoken and written). Third language: an asset
